Back up phone memory

Before updating your phone's software, it's recommended that you back up the phone memory to ensure that no data is lost. It can also be useful to back up the phone memory regularly to ensure that no data is lost in case of defects or crashes. Follow these instructions to back up the phone memory.

    Install HTC Sync Manager
    • Go to www.htc.com on your computer.
    • Find the download section on the web page to download HTC Sync Manager.
    • Download and install HTC Sync Manager on your computer.

    Select setting for USB connection
    • Press the menu icon.
    • Press Settings.
    • Press Connect to PC.
    • Press Default connection type.
    • Press HTC Sync Manager.
    • Press the Back key.

    Turn off USB debugging
    • Press Developer options.
    • Press USB debugging to turn off the function.
    • When the field next to the menu item is empty, the function is turned off.
    • Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

    Connect phone and computer
    • Connect the data cable to the phone socket and to your computer's USB port.

    Back up phone memory
    • Start the program HTC Sync Manager on your computer.
    • Wait while the program establishes a connection to your phone.
    • Select More.
    • Select the required data types.
    • When the field next to a data type is ticked (V), it's selected.
    • Follow the instructions on the screen to select settings for the required data types.
    • Select the back up icon to back up the phone memory to the computer.
    • If the software has been updated, there may be some differences in relation to these instructions.
