Activate phone

You need to activate your phone before using it for the first time and after a factory reset. Before you can activate your phone, you need to insert your SIM into your phone.

Press the Home key.
If your SIM is locked, press Unlock.
Key in your PIN and press OK.
Press the required language.
Press the required country or area.
Follow the instructions on the screen to transfer content from another iOS 11 device or press Set Up Manually.
Press the required Wi-Fi network.
Key in the password for the Wi-Fi network and press Join.
Follow the instructions on the screen to turn on use of Touch ID or press Set Up Touch ID Later.
If you turn off the function, press Don't Use.
Press Passcode Options.
Follow the instructions on the screen to turn on use of phone lock code or press Don't Use Passcode.
If you turn off the function, press Don't Use Passcode.
Press Set Up as New iPhone and follow the instructions on the screen to finish the activation.

    Enter your PIN
    • Press the Home key.
    • If your SIM is locked, press Unlock.
    • Key in your PIN and press OK.
      If the wrong PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM is blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. The PUK can be obtained by contacting Customer Service. Please note: If the wrong PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM will be blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from Telstra.

    Select general settings
    • Press the required language.
    • Press the required country or area.

    Select setup method
    • Follow the instructions on the screen to transfer content from another iOS 11 device or press Set Up Manually.

    Select Wi-Fi network
    • Press the required Wi-Fi network.
    • Key in the password for the Wi-Fi network and press Join.
      If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, you can use the mobile network instead.

    Turn use of Touch ID on or off
    • Follow the instructions on the screen to turn on use of Touch ID or press Set Up Touch ID Later.
    • If you turn off the function, press Don't Use.

    Turn use of phone lock code on or off
    • Press Passcode Options.
    • Follow the instructions on the screen to turn on use of phone lock code or press Don't Use Passcode.
    • If you turn off the function, press Don't Use Passcode.

    Set up your phone as a new iPhone
    • Press Set Up as New iPhone and follow the instructions on the screen to finish the activation.
    • If you've backed up content previously, you can restore the content from an iCloud backup or restore the content from an iTunes backup. You can also transfer content from an Android phone.
