Set up your phone for email

You can set up your phone to send and receive email from your email accounts, such as Gmail or email accounts using your own email provider. Remember, you need to set up your phone for internet.

Select an alternative email configuration:
- Set up your phone for Telstra Mail
- Set up your phone for Exchange email

    Find "email+accounts"
    • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
    • Press ALL SETTINGS.
    • Press email+accounts.

    Create new email account
    • Press add an account.

    Select email provider
    • Press the required provider or advanced setup.

    Enter email address
    • Press the field below "Email address" and key in your email address.

    Enter password
    • Press the field below "Password" and key in the password for your email account.
    • Press next.
    • If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.

    Select account type
    • Press Internet email.

    Enter email account name
    • Press the field below "Account name" and key in the required name.

    Enter sender name
    • Press the field below "Your name" and key in the required sender name.

    Enter incoming server
    • Press the field below "Incoming email server" and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

    Select server type
    • Press the field below "Account type".
    • Press POP3.

    Enter username
    • Press the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.

    Enter outgoing server
    • Press the field below "Outgoing (SMTP) email server" and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.

    Turn SMTP authentication on or off
    • Press Outgoing server requires authentication to turn the function on or off.
    • If you turn on SMTP authentication:
    • Follow the instructions on the display to use the username and password for your email account.

    Edit advanced settings
    • Press advanced settings.

    Turn off encryption of email
    • Press Require SSL for incoming email and Require SSL for outgoing email until the function is turned off.

    Select setting for retrieval of new email
    • Press the field below "Download new content".
    • Press the required interval or manually.

    Select period for synchronisation of email
    • Press the field below "Download email from".
    • Press the required period or any time.

    Finish setup
    • Press sign in.

    Return to the home screen
    • Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
