Select GPS settings

There are various ways of determining your position. If you turn on one or more positioning methods on your phone, the information about your position will be available to other functions on your phone, such as navigation, search functions and weather forecast.

    Find "Location services"
    • Press Apps.
    • Press Settings.
    • Press Location services.

    Select option
    • Select one of the following options:
    • Turn network-based GPS on or off, go to 2a.
    • Turn satellite-based GPS on or off, go to 2b.
    • Turn GPS position when searching on or off, go to 2c.

    2a - Turn network-based GPS on or off
    • Press Use wireless networks to turn the function on or off.
    • When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.
    • Press Agree, if required.
    • If you turn on network-based GPS, your phone can find your approximate position using the network. This is useful if you don't have a GPS satellite fix.

    2b - Turn satellite-based GPS on or off
    • Press Use GPS satellites to turn the function on or off.
    • When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.
    • If you turn on satellite-based GPS, your phone can find your exact position. Satellite-based GPS requires a clear view of the sky.

    2c - Turn GPS position when searching on or off
    • Press Location and Google search to turn the function on or off.
    • When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.
    • Press Agree, if required.

    Exit
    • Press the Home key to return to standby mode.
