Set up your phone for email

You can set up your phone to send and receive email from your email accounts, such as Gmail or email accounts using your own email provider. Remember, you need to set up your phone for internet.

Select an alternative email configuration:
- Set up your phone for Telstra Mail
- Set up your phone for Exchange email

    Find "Email"
    • Press the menu icon.
    • Press Email.

    Enter email address
    • Key in your email address.
    • If an email account has been created already, do the following instead:Press the Menu key. Press Settings. Press ADD ACCOUNT. Key in your email address.

    Enter password
    • Press Password and key in the password for your email account.
    • Press Next.

    Select server type
    • Press POP3.

    Enter username
    • Key in the username for your email account.

    Enter incoming server
    • Press the field below "POP3 server" and key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's incoming server.

    Enter incoming port
    • Press the field below "Port" and key in 993
  • 8
    Turn deletion of email on server on or off
    • Press the drop down list below "Delete email from server".
    • Press Never or When I delete from Inbox.
    • Press Next.

    Enter outgoing server
    • Key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.

    Enter outgoing port
    • Press the field below "Port" and key in 587
    • If you're having problems sending email, try keying in 465 instead or ask your email provider for the correct outgoing port.

    Turn SMTP authentication on or off
    • Press Require sign-in to turn the function on or off.
    • Press Next.
    • If you turn on SMTP authentication, you need to key in username and password for your email provider's outgoing server.

    Select settings for retrieval of new email
    • Press the drop down list below "Inbox checking frequency".
    • Press Never or the required period.

    Turn email notification on or off
    • Press Notify me when email arrives to turn the function on or off.

    Turn email synchronisation on or off
    • Press Sync email from this account to turn the function on or off.
    • Press Next.

    Enter email account name
    • Key in a name for your email account
  • 16
    Enter sender name
    • Press the field below "Your name (displayed on outgoing messages)" and key in the required sender name.

    Finish setup
    • Press Next.
    • Wait while your phone retrieves new email.

    Return to the home screen
    • Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
