Turn use of PIN on or off

The PIN protects your SIM from unauthorised use if your phone should get stolen. If use of PIN is turned on, it needs to be keyed in when you turn on your phone.

Press the Navigation key.
Select Settings.
Select Phone Settings.
Select Security.
Select Set up SIM card lock.
Select Lock SIM card to turn the function on or off.
Key in your PIN and press the Navigation key.
Press Disconnect to return to the home screen.

    Find "Set up SIM card lock"
    • Press the Navigation key.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Phone Settings.
    • Select Security.
    • Select Set up SIM card lock.

    Turn use of PIN on or off
    • Select Lock SIM card to turn the function on or off.
    • Key in your PIN and press the Navigation key.
      If the wrong PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM is blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. The PUK can be obtained by contacting Customer Service. Please note: If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently. In this case, you need a new SIM from your operator.

    Return to the home screen
    • Press Disconnect to return to the home screen.
