Set up your phone for email

You can set up your phone to send and receive email from your email accounts, such as Gmail or email accounts using your own email provider. Remember, you need to set up your phone for internet.

Select an alternative email configuration:
- Set up your phone for Telstra Mail
- Set up your phone for Exchange email

    Find "APN"
    • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
    • Press Settings.
    • Press Network Connections.
    • Press Mobile Network.
    • Press APN.

    Enter APN
    • Press the field below Access Point Name (APN) and key in telstra.wap
  • 3
    Save data connection
    • Press Save.
    • Press Back.
    • Press Back.
    • Slide your finger up the display starting from the bottom edge of your phone to return to standby mode.

    Find "Accounts"
    • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
    • Press Settings.
    • Press Accounts.

    Create email account
    • If you've already set up an email account:
    • Press Add Account.
    • Press Email, Calendar and Contacts.

    Enter email address
    • Key in your email address and press Next.

    Enter password
    • Key in the password for your email account and press Next.

    Select option
    • If this image is displayed:
    • Follow steps 9 through 14.
    • If this image is displayed:
    • Follow steps 15 through 29.

    Enter email account name
    • Press the field below Description and key in a name for the email account.

    Select data types
    • Press the indicator next to Sync Email, Sync Contacts and Sync Calendar to turn synchronisation of these data types on or off.

    Activate email account
    • Press Done.
    • Wait while the email account is activated.

    Edit email account settings
    • Press the email account you've just set up.
  • 13
    Select setting for retrieving new email
    • Press the field below Sync Interval.
    • Press the required period or Manual.

    Save and exit
    • Press Save.
    • Slide your finger up the display starting from the bottom edge of your phone to return to standby mode.

    Enter email account name
    • Press the field below Description and key in a name for the email account.

    Enter sender name
    • Press the field below Display Name and key in the required sender name.

    Enter username
    • Press the field below Username and key in the username for your email account.
  • 18
    Enter email address
    • Press the field below Email Address and key in your email address.

    Enter password
    • Press the field below Password and key in the password for your email account.

    Enter incoming server
    • Press the field below Server Address and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

    Enter incoming port
    • Press the field below Port and key in 110

    Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email
    • Press the indicator next to Use SSL to turn off SSL encryption.

    Enter outgoing server
    • Press the field below SMTP Server Address and key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.

    Enter outgoing port
    • Press the field below SMTP Port and key in 25
  • 25
    Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email
    • Press the drop down list below SMTP Encryption.
    • Press Off.

    Select setting for retrieving new email
    • Press the drop down list below Sync Interval.
    • Press the required period or Manual.

    Select period for retrieving email
    • Press the drop down list below Initial Retrieval Amount.
    • Press the required period.

    Save information
    • Press Done.

    Exit
    • Slide your finger up the display starting from the bottom edge of your phone to return to standby mode.
