Set up your phone for email
You can set up your phone to send and receive email from your email accounts, such as Gmail or email accounts using your own email provider. Remember, you need to set up your phone for internet.
Select an alternative email configuration:
- Set up your phone for Telstra Mail
- Set up your phone for Exchange email

1Find "Access Point Names"
- Press Apps.
- Press Settings.
- Press More settings.
- Press Mobile networks.
- Press Access Point Names.

2Create new data connection
- Press the Menu key.
- Press New APN.

3Enter data connection name
- Press Name.
- Key in Telstra Mail and press OK.

4Enter APN
- Press APN.
- Key in telstra.wap and press OK.

An APN is used to establish a data connection.

5Enter country code
- Press MCC.
- Key in 505 and press OK.

6Enter network code
- Press MNC.
- Key in 01 and press OK.

7Select authentication type
- Press Authentication type.
- Press None.

8Select APN type
- Press APN type.
- Key in default and press OK.

9Save and activate data connection
- Press the Menu key.
- Press Save.
- Press the field next to Telstra Mail to fill in the field.
- Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

10Find "Email"
- Press Apps.
- Press Email.

If email accounts have been created already, press the Menu key. Press Settings. Press the add account icon.

11Enter email address
- Press account@example.com and key in your email address.

12Enter password
- Press Password and key in the password for your email account.
- Press Next.

13Select option
- If this image is displayed:
- Follow steps 14 through 17.
- If this image is displayed:
- Follow steps 18 through 32.

14Select email account settings
- Follow the instructions on the display to select email account settings.
- Press Next.

15Enter email account name
- Press the field below Give this account a name (Optional) and key in a name for your email account (such as Private or Work).

16Retrieve email
- Press Done.
- Wait while your phone retrieves new email.

17Exit
- Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

18Select server type
- Press POP3 account.

19Enter username
- Key in the username for your email account.

20Enter incoming server
- Press the field below POP3 server and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's incoming server.

21Turn off encryption of incoming email
- Press the drop down list below Security type.
- Press None.

22Enter incoming port
- Press the field below Port and key in 110

23Turn deletion of email on server on or off
- Press the drop down list below Delete email from server.
- Press Never or When I delete from Inbox.
- Press Next.

24Enter outgoing server
- Key in the name of your email provider's outgoing server.

25Turn off encryption of outgoing email
- Press the drop down list below Security type.
- Press None.

26Enter outgoing port
- Press the field below Port and key in 25

27Turn SMTP authentication on or off
- Press Require sign-in to turn SMTP authentication on or off.
- When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), SMTP authentication is turned on.
- Press Next.

If you turn on SMTP authentication, you need to key in username and password for your email provider's outgoing server.

28Select setting for retrieving new email
- Press the drop down list below Email check frequency.
- Press Never or the required period.
- Press Next.

29Enter email account name
- Press the field below Give this account a name (Optional) and key in a name for your email account (such as Private or Work).

30Enter sender name
- Press the field below Your name (displayed on outgoing messages) and key in the required sender name.

31Retrieve email
- Press Done.
- Wait while your phone retrieves new email.

32Exit
- Press the Home key to return to standby mode.
