I can't establish a wireless connection to my modem

If you can't establish a wireless connection to your modem, there may be several causes of the problem.

The name of your Wi-Fi hotspot needs to be different from the other Wi-Fi hotspot names your computer can connect to.

Solution: Change Wi-Fi hotspot name

Click Wi-Fi Settings.

If wireless connections are turned off on your computer, you can't establish a wireless connection to your modem.

Solution: Turn on wireless connections on your computer.

If you've keyed in a wrong password, you can't establish a wireless connection to your modem.

Solution: View Wi-Fi hotspot password

Click Wi-Fi Settings.

If wireless connections are turned off on your modem, you can't establish a wireless connection to your modem.

Solution: Turn on the Wi-Fi signal on your modem.

If the location of your modem isn't optimal, it may affect the wireless connection.

Solution: Optimise Wi-Fi signal

Do not place your modem in drawers and cupboards.

If you can't establish a wireless connection to your modem, it may help restarting your modem and the connected devices.

Solution: Restart modem

Disconnect the power supply from the power plug to turn off your modem. Wait for 30 seconds.
