The speed of the internet connection is lower than expected

If the speed of the internet connection is lower than expected, there may be several causes of the problem.

If you're downloading files using a peer-to-peer program, such as a BitTorrent client, you may experience low speeds.

Solution: Close the peer-to-peer program.

If the modem software is out of date, you may experience low speeds.

Solution: Update the modem software

If the quality of the internet line is low, you may experience low speeds.

Solution: Contact Customer Service for information on planned or unforeseen events, such as maintenance or outages, which may affect the quality of the internet line.

You may experience low speeds if you're using a wireless connection to your modem instead of an Ethernet cable.

Solution: Try establishing a connection to your modem using an Ethernet cable instead.
